Coach Gazda

During her years as a Metuchen High student, Val Gazda played a prominent role on four very successful basketball teams. It seems like each time you walk down the main corridor of the school, you notice the basketball in the glass case that is labeled, "Val Gazda 1000 points 1982". After college, Ms. Gazda returned to Metuchen High as a girls' basketball coach. She has been coaching girls' basketball here ever since, for a total of 15 years, 9 years as Head Coach. But now she's decided to hang up her spikes...ok, her basketball shoes. This page is a tribute to Coach Gazda and the girls' basketball team.

"I have been coached by Ms. Gazda for 4 years now and I must say that I have a lot of respect for her. She's a hard-working woman and very dedicated to her job as coach. She's that extra ear when needed to be heard and that other eye when you think that no one sees what you're doing...so be careful. LOL. I love ya coach and thanks for a great season!"
