I am a 1975 graduate of East and had Mr. Burrows from 1972-75. Another Burrows student forwarded a link to your site to me. I enjoyed it greatly and of course know a lot of the students in the 1975 photos. Mr. Burrows was a phenomenon. I am an attorney and before that was in a Ph.D. program in history at the University of Wisconsin. In all of my years in school I remember perhaps three teachers who were truly exceptional, and Mr. Burrows was the best of the bunch. He was inspired and inspiring, loveable and infuriating in turns. Always memorable. At our 20th class reunion in 1995 those of us who were in Mr. Burrows' class gathered for a private party. It was amazing how many of us still had our literature notebooks from junior year and our history outlines from all three years. I still have them and in fact I consult them from time to time to give my kids bedtime "stories" (actually short history lectures).
