A Burrows Quiz
I still have a couple of genuine Burrows quizzes in an old notebook, but I think they would be too difficult for people to take now. In a matching section on one quiz: who among us would remember that "Duke of Alva" matched "William the Silent," or that "Francis I" matched "sent Cartier"? On another quiz: who would remember that "The first known English writer" matched "Caedmon" or that "Simon de Montfort" matched "Evesham"? Well, I certainly don't remember those things now, but during sophomore year of high school I more or less did. If you still remember those things, my hat is off to you. So I decided to make up a Burrows quiz. Presumptuous of me I know, but I think people might have a better shot at getting these questions right than they would on the genuine article. I went through my sophomore-year history notebook and made up questions from the notes. I hope you enjoy it. The quiz has 35 questions. After you make a choice, I tell you whether my answer and your answer agree. The quiz does not keep track of how many of the questions you got right. Webmaster |
